In conjunction with its 10th Anniversary, Lamborghini Singapore introduces the "Singapore Limited Edition", with proceeds from each sale going to charity.
Marking a remarkable milestone in Singapore’s automotive industry, Lamborghini Singapore celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year by kick-starting its “Lamborghini Singapore 10th Anniversary Charity Fund” programme. This fund-raiser has so far, raised a total of S$200,000 from the sales of ten special 10th Anniversary limited edition Lamborghini cars. Inaugurating Lamborghini Singapore’s 10th Anniversary Charity Fund this Chinese New Year, Lamborghini Singapore had pledged to donate S$20,000 from the sale of each of the ten special 10th Anniversary limited edition Lamborghini. They aim to lift the lives of less fortunate students in Singapore, with all proceeds going to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (SPMF).
These limited edition Lamborghini cars are made exclusively for the Singapore market to celebrate Lamborghini Singapore’s 10th Anniversary. Spearheading the commissioning of the “Singapore Limited Edition” Lamborghini cars is Mr Melvin Goh, Managing Director of Lamborghini Singapore. Mr Goh’s discussions with the factory began as early as July 2010, and took close to three months for the concept to be finalized.
These exclusive cars can be recognized easily on the road with a specially designed “Merlion” logo tagged on the exterior of each car.
At Lamborghini Singapore’s 10th Anniversary Celebratory Chinese New Year Lo-Hei dinner function held at the Mandarin Oriental last Tuesday, new owners of the “Singapore Limited Edition” Lamborghini cars received the keys to their brand new wheels. “2011 marks a great year for Lamborghini Singapore as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary in Singapore. I want to congratulate our ten owners who will soon be cruising down the roads in the special edition cars and it is with great joy that we are able to contribute to the SPMF”, he said.
In 2010, about 12,400 students were on the fund’s assistance, almost four times the number of students supported when the fund started a decade ago. Continued Mr Goh, “We have been very blessed indeed and honoured to be able to share our good fortune with the less privileged in society. I believe it is vital for us to continue spreading this goodwill”.
Ms Bertha Henson, Organizing Chairman of The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund also received the S$200,000 cheque from Mr Melvin Goh. Aptly established on Children’s Day (1 October) in 2000, The Straits Times launched SPMF to give the less fortunate students in Singapore pocket money for school. This financial assistance helps relive a part of the burden of many parents who are already struggling to survive.
For Lamborghini Singapore’s 10th Anniversary celebration, Lamborghini Singapore will continue on with its line up of Community Service Responsibility activities in year 2011 in a bid to share the spirit of caring and giving.
