BRZ to arrive in Singapore soon

BY Joel Tam

The second-generation BRZ is due here soon. The 2.4-litre boxer engine in the new BRZ will push out 232 bhp and 250Nm of torque.

It maintains the classic front-engine, rear-drive sports coupe set-up and will again come with a choice of a 6-speed manual gearbox or 6-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission.

The redesigned model will come in seven colours, including WR Blue Pearl which is unique to the Subaru brand (in other words, not available with the Toyota GR86 – which is available in Neptune and Trueno Blue in other markets).

There's also a new cockpit with leather/Ultrasuede seats, a new LCD instrument cluster with a central tachometer and infotainment from an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The BRZ will also feature what Subaru claims to be a 'sport-tuned' Vehicle Stability Control with Track mode and a Torsen limited-slip differential.

Indicative prices of the Subaru BRZ are $120,800 (MT) and $130,800 (AT) exclusive of COE.
