The Lexus LC marks the beginning of a new phase for Lexus

Borneo Motors has launched the first-ever Lexus LC in Singapore, at the Lexus Pop-up Showcase in Wisma Atria shopping centre. Drawing inspiration from the highly lauded LF-LC concept that debuted in 2012, the LC marks Lexus’ transformation in engineering processes and design direction, heralding a beginning of a new phase for Lexus.

The Lexus LC is built on an entirely new platform dubbed the GA-L (Global Architecture-Luxury), designed with a lower centre of gravity and is set to underpin future front engined, rear-wheel drive Lexus models.

Two variants are available — the LC 500 packing a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 with 470bhp, and the LC Hybrid featuring a 3.5-litre V6 with a Multi-Stage Hybrid System that produces 353bhp.

A first in any Lexus, the LC500 features a brand-new 10-speed automatic transmission, offering shift times rivaling dual-clutch transmissions while retaining the smoothness of a traditional torque-converter automatic.

Comfort and handling were accorded equal importance - thus the use of a double ball joint front suspension, together with control arms made of lightweight forged aluminum. This allows for control of the smallest movements from driver inputs and the road surface, achieving precise steering and excellent suspension response.

Prices for both the LC 500 and LC Hybrid are at $550,000 inclusive of COE.
