Singapore-found Acronis International GmbH announces long-term partnership with F1 team Scuderia Toro Rosso; becomes first Singapore principle company for such sponsorship

Acronis, a global leader in hybrid cloud data protection which partnered Scuderia Toro Rosso in the last Hungarian GP, announced the extension of the agreement to a new long-term partnership. The Acronis logo, which was already visible on the STR11 cars in Budapest, will continues to be on the team's cars and driver's suits, signifying Acronis' commitment to the team through providing the latest technology to protect Toro Rosso's IT infrastructure. Toro Rosso will also use Acronis' hybrid cloud data protection solutions to guarantee data availability when it's most needed during races and preparing for events.

Founded in September 2003 in Singapore by CEO Serguei Beloussov, Acronis is the first Singapore principle company to sponsor a team in the world's premiere racing series. Acronis protects the data of over 5 million consumers and 500,000 businesses in over 145 countries; it also holds more than 100 patents.

Scuderia Toro Rosso produces up to 700 GB of data every race weekend. Hundreds of sensors with multiple data points monitor the cars, providing real-time information which is immediately analysed and used through the race to improve performance. The data is also transferred to Toro Rosso's base in Faenza, Italy where a support group of engineers and data analysts use it for car improvements and new race strategies.

"It's great news that Acronis has decided to support our team with a long term partnership", commented team driver Carlos Sainz. "Formula 1 is a technologically intensive sport and Toro Rosso is looking forward to working together with Acronis."
