Latest Bond mobile unveiled at Aston Martin’s new Singapore home

Britain’s coolest car brand moves into new premises under newly appointed dealer Wearnes Automotive.

On the eve of the local premiere of the latest James Bond film Spectre, luxury car retailer Wearnes Automotive opened the doors to Aston Martin Singapores new showroom and aftersales facility at 45 Leng Kee Rd.

With a combined 570 square metres of showroom and workshop space, the new building is one of the largest integrated sales and aftersales facilities in Southeast Asia. The showroom floor has space enough to display six cars, while the workshop area is the first in the region to be fully air-conditioned, to ensure customers’ cars are taken care of in the most conducive environment.

To mark the occasion, the latest four-wheeled star of the James Bond film series also made its debut. The history and image of Aston Martin and the world’s most iconic super-spy are inextricably intertwined, after the gadget-laden DB5 roared its way to silver screen stardom in Goldfinger over half a century ago. Since then, numerous Astons have had starring roles alongside 007, including the DBS, Vanquish, and now, DB10.

The Aston Martin DB10 is a bespoke car created specially for the film, based on the same aluminium chassis and 4.7-litre V8 engine used in the V8 Vantage sports car. Although the styling of the DB10 previews what future Aston models could look like, you won’t actually be able to buy one for yourself. Only 10 units were produced for filming purposes, and none will be sold to the public.

Also on display was the only DB9 GT Bond Edition in Singapore. Unlike the DB10, this DB9 GT is one you can drive on the roads, as it’s part of a limited global production run of 150 units. The car features unique Spectre silver paint, discreet ’007 Bond Edition’ badging and "elegant James Bond themed accessories" to mark it out as something special.

Said Wearnes CEO Andre Roy of the opening of the new premises, "Aston Martin is a luxury brand that produces highly desirable and stunningly beautiful sports cars. We are honoured to have the opportunity to work with the business, and look forward to building a strong Aston Martin presence in Singapore."
