Swiftly Does It

Local Suzuki dealer Champion Motors announces Special Edition of its most popular hatchback.

Oh, Suzuki. Cruel is the hand that fate has dealt. In the latter half of the ’00s, the Suzuki Swift was one of the most popular small cars around, thanks to a solid combination of cute looks, robust mechanicals, zippy performance and above all, incredible value for money. Sadly, the latest generation of Swift was launched at exactly the same time that COE prices shot up into the stratosphere, and sales for it (and other Suzuki models) plummeted. It’s a massive shame, because the Swift is extremely economical yet one of the most fun to drive hatchbacks in its class.

Now that COE prices are going down again however, perhaps it’s time the Swift got a second chance? That’s certainly what Champion Motors is hoping for, with the release of the Suzuki Swift Special Edition.

To jazz up the exterior, the Swift SE will be available in 5 different paint finishes together with contrasting roof colours (Boost Blue Pearl Metallic/White, Super Black Pearl/White, Premium Silver Metallic/Black, Ablaze Red Pearl/Black and Snow White Pearl/Black), as well as a new chrome twin-slat front grille and gunmetal grey alloys.

On the inside, the biggest change is the new part-leather, part-suede seats that should help grip you better when cornering. Furthermore the seats, together with the steering wheel and gearlever, also feature contrasting silver stitching, while chrome trim on the dashboard and doors help liven up the otherwise black interior.

Interested? Champion Motors will be holding a preview event on 12 Sep, where early birds can enjoy VIP prices and privileges on the Swift SE. Head on over to www.suzukicar.com.sg for more information.
