New Discovery Sport Enters Town

Wearnes Automotive officially launches the all-new Discovery Sport at the Land Rover Showroom today

And with that, the public are invited to visit the showroom to be amongst the first to view the latest addition to the Land Rover family and experience the Discovery Sport’s versatility, with its flexible 5+2 seating configurations and close to 1,700-litres of load capacity.

The all-new Discovery Sport is the first member of the new Discovery family.

A suite of Land Rover innovations debut, including the next generation multi-link rear axle, an all-new touchscreen infotainment system and high-strength steel and lightweight aluminium bodyshell which promises outstanding performance, safety and efficiency.

Off-road capability remains the core of Land Rover\'s DNA. Naturally, the Discovery Sport’s body geometry has been optimised for even the harshest terrain, with excellent ground clearance, approach, departure and breakover angles, and an ability to wade through water to a depth of 600mm. Land Rover’s Terrain Response® system also allows drivers to tailor Discovery Sport’s responses to the prevailing conditions.

At launch, the Discovery Sport is available with an all-alloy Si4 2.0-litre engine with 238 bhp and direct fuel injection. This offers a six-cylinder engine\'s level of performance in a compact package that reduces weight and cuts CO2 emissions by up to 20 percent, compared to conventional larger capacity engines with a similar power output. This is paired with a ZF-supplied 9HP48 nine-speed automatic transmission.
