Volkswagen Launches CC R-Line

BY Joel Tam

The already sexy Volkswagen CC now comes in a bolder and sportier version.

The Tiguan R-Line will have some company as the CC joins its ranks this month. Like the Tiguan R-Line, the CC R-Line will have a redesigned, sportier front bumper and chunkier side skirts. Also standard on the CC R-Line are 18-inch ‘Mallory’ alloy wheels, which nicely fill up the arches and give the car a sporty stance (as if the sleek 4-door coupe needed it).

That's not all though. Inside, the  CC R-Line is further set apart with door tread plates with R-Line lettering and a leather sports steering wheel with multifunction controls and an R-Line emblem on the middle spoke.

The CC R-Line is not all-show-and-no-go too. Power comes from a 2.0 TSI engine with 210 bhp and 280 Nm of torque, mated to VW's robust six-speed DSG, delivering a 0-100 km/h time of 7.3 seconds.

You can't look good and go fast without some creature comforts can you? Packed into this svelt sedan are 12-way adjustable ventilated front sports seats upholstered in Nappa leather, a 10-speaker Dynaudio in-car entertainment system, Dynamic Chassis Control, Park Assist with Rear Assist rear-view camera, Easy Open sensor-controlled boot opening and an electrically-operated rear sunblind. All that for a launch price of S$197,800 with COE. I'd drop by VW for a look-look CC if I were you.
